Saving those who save others

Fire and EMS personnel are not immune to the effects of the work they conduct day to day. These experiences can impact their mental wellness just as with any body else.
Retired Captain Jeff Dill, a career firefighter of 26 years and also a counselor, is the founder of the Firefighter Behavioral Health Alliance. They validate and keep track of all fire and EMS suicides, with a view of providing better support services to their brothers and sisters in service. FFBHA offers a number of training programs to educate not only fire and ems personnel, but also to give counselors and chaplains who are interested in working with these populations a better understanding of their culture.
