Technically Speaking Segment: A brief interview with Bill Kern of GoWall about innovative cloud-based solutions the world should know about.
“Passing notes during meetings is encouraged. GoWall. The cloud-based meeting productivity tool that has everyone talking.”
About the Interviewer:
Moira Alexander is a contributor and co-host of the “technically speaking” segment on the Price of Business Talk Radio (on the BizTalkRadio Network), whom you can learn more about at www.leadhershipgroup.com. She recently interviewed Bill Kern of GoWall (as part of a series of interviews) to find out about innovative cloud-based solutions the world should know about.
About GoWall:
GoWall is based in Palo Alto, CA. GoWall was founded by professional facilitators who have led meetings of every size in industries ranging from high tech to construction. They’ve used every imaginable tool trying to keep participants engaged, while simultaneously keeping a record of ideas people shared. After many late nights of transcribing Post-It notes and whiteboard scribbles, the idea for GoWall was born.
About the interviewee:
Bill Kern is a seasoned entrepreneurial leader, who drives significant growth in both established and startup enterprises. Bill’s latest venture, GoWall, combines his global expertise in meeting facilitation and engagement, with a technology tool that ensures 100% engagement, while reducing meeting times by 50%. Bill has been the CEO for numerous organizations where he has driven significant change and growth in both established and start-up enterprises ranging from $1M to $320M in size. He is an effective change agent, motivator, team builder, trainer and public speaker with a strong track record for creating immediate top and bottom line improvements in his own companies as well as client organizations.
Tell me about the key features of your product or service?
Bill: GoWall is a cloud-based meeting productivity tool that turns Jeff Bezos 2-pizza rule on its head. His two pizza rule says that you should never have more people in a meeting than two pizzas can feed. GoWall acts as a companion to other meeting tools (Webex, Skype, Zoom, Join.me, Slack, etc.) to deliver the one thing that meeting and collaboration technology tend to forget — the engagement of people participating in the meeting. To get started, facilitators design a “wall” and invite participants to join and contribute their ideas by adding notes to the wall. Notes can be grouped, ‘liked,’ prioritized, discussed, and actioned. At the end of the meeting, facilitators can export all the notes collected for easy review and analysis.
What makes your product or service so innovative, and what are the hot button issues it addresses for companies?
Bill: GoWall delivers 100% meeting engagement, cuts meeting times in half, and produces up to 50% more actionable ideas. GoWall’s features help meeting owners/leaders get organized and engage their participants. Best of all, meeting walls and lists can be saved and reused, saving valuable time, especially when planning meetings on the fly. Meetings can be in room, or across the world, or a hybrid of both. However people use GoWall for their meetings, they always generate outstanding results.
