October 1, 2017 – At least 50 people have been killed and over 400 wounded after a gunman opened fire from the 32nd floor at the Mandalay Bay Casino in Las Vegas – officials said Monday. It was the worst mass shooting in modern U.S. history.
Country music star Jason Aldean was performing Sunday night at the end of the three-day Route 91 Harvest Festival when the gunman led the hail of bullets, shooting at thousands of innocent people and leaving bystanders ducking for cover and scrambling for their lives from what seemed to be certain death. It was the hardest thing I had to watch in a long time, at least since the 9-11 terrorist attack.
The gunman was identified by law enforcement officials as 64-year-old Stephen Paddock, a resident of Mesquite, Nevada. Las Vegas. Police found more than 10 rifles inside his hotel room. Paddock killed himself before SWAT entered the room. Police don’t believe there are any more shooters. “Right now, we believe it’s a sole actor, a lone-wolf-type actor,” the sheriff said. Stephen Paddock’s motive is still unclear.
